A journal of sorts

Recently I saw someone online make these and thought what a great idea!  Using the box from some of your favorite things.

After going to see Phil and Amy in Urbana, one of the things they suggested was to track all your food in a journal to see just where those calories are coming from.  So I thought I'd make a journal for Chel with one of her favorite things... Luna protein bars, and then I thought I should make one for Zach too, and one of his favorite things... pop tarts!

So many things to journal about... daily gratitude journal, dream journal, food journal, life journal.  I love looking back at old journals to see what was going on in my life and how I made it through.  I kept many journals especially after losing Ryan, my dad and Joe.  It was like my way of talking to them, and it helped...

Now I need to get back to it and make myself one...

One ends and another begins

Today was Chelsea's last day of spring break.  Then we have one more week of school and Zach's spring break will begin.

We had such a blast this week!  I love when she's home for a long stretch like that.  We were able to do so many things but it made for such a busy week!

Lots of shopping, movies, live shows, and laughter just to name a few of the things we did this week.  She and I had lunch at Corkscrew Saloon one afternoon, met Sam and Tasha at Applebees one evening, Joel, Zach, Chel and I went to dinner at Medina Steak house, a place we haven't visited in the 15 years that we've lived in this area.  

Going shopping in Pennsylvania, Crocker Park, Great Northern and Strongsville malls. Seeing Ryan Humbert live and Phil and Amy from the biggest loser, and of course seeing Monster's vs aliens...

Spring break

For months we've been trying to get together with Sam and Tasha, and finally, last night we were able to meet for dinner.

We met at Applebees and spent the next couple hours catching up and doing lots of laughing! It was a fun night and I'm looking forward to our next get together...

Chel and I also did some more shopping on Tuesday, after her doctor appointment. We shopped at two malls looking for a dress, found it at our first stop but had them hold it till we looked elsewhere.

Coming up... although I'm not sure Zach is too thrilled with me since, I scheduled his braces to be put on during his spring break in April?  I don't think he will be as excited as Chel was to change colors of the bands during each visit, but we'll see?

Looking forward to a busy weekend too, with a family night out tonight, movies on Friday (Monster's vs Aliens) and a visit with Phil and Amy from the biggest loser on Saturday plus another crop with Trish!   Hoping after dinner tonight I can get some pages planned for the crop.

Glad its over!

Yesterday was a day I was dreading for a long time.  It actually began over a year ago when I started having problems with a tooth.  I had already gone through a root canal and had a crown put on this tooth and it started bothering me again.  

After going to my dentist he said the tooth was infected and had to be pulled!  Well, then it seemed the tooth quit bothering me, for almost a year the tooth didn't bother me.  Until recently when it started again.  I knew this time I had to get it out!

I dreaded going to the dentist and was sick to my stomach until after I left the appointment.  Finally the tooth was removed and prepped for a bridge.  But of course it wasn't easy... I guess I did put it off too long and by the time he got the tooth out I also needed stitches!  I'm still sore but I'm so glad it is over!

Now the rest of the week is fun family stuff in between work.  I can handle that!

This weekend Chelsea and I are going to a 90 day fitness challenge in the afternoon, run by Phil and Amy from the Biggest Loser, and then I'm heading to another crop with Trish and the girls, which I'm looking forward to!

I've been working away with my kit this month for Work in Progress and having a blast!  I completed several layouts already and still have more ideas!  Those should be up in the Work in Progress gallery some time next week.

I also have been working on some Easter projects.  I got these styrofoam eggs and decided to use some of my many jars of flowers to decorate!

Fun and busy weekend

Its spring break for Chelsea and looks like we are going to have a busy week.  Last night we headed out to the Ryan Humbert show in Hudson.  It was awesome and I can't wait for his new CD to come out!  It was a "story tellers" show, so there was lots of talking and joking between songs.  Today we are heading out to Pennsylvania to a mall for some much needed shopping! 

And then tomorrow I get to head out to a dentist appointment!  Yuck!  Well I think I better enjoy this day because tomorrow's will not be as fun!

Stamp club and Springs Arrival

Yesterday was our monthly stamp club meeting and I love how Michelle always comes up with the cutest ideas.  And not only are they cute, but she makes things that don't take a lot of time to put together.

The little box was a 6 X 6 piece of paper scored and cut to make the box.  Perfect for post it notes or fill it with you own treats.  The other container was from one of the new stampin up dies.  Using two die cuts we made the little envelope.

We had a beautiful day today and a reminder that spring is right around the corner.  I walked around the yard to see the bulbs starting to grow...

I'm so ready for spring!

Blue Skies

So glad to be seeing blue skies again!  This has been such a long, cold and snowy winter and I am ready for spring.  Funny in talking recently I found out that spring is my hubby's favorite time of the year.  For some reason I had always just assumed it was summer?

We are in the beginning stages of planning some camping and vacation get aways for this summer and I'm so excited.  We've already booked Memorial weekend and have a couple other camp dates set up in July and now we are looking for a trip to Virginia Beach in June!  This is the part of the summer season that I love!

This weekend Chelsea starts her spring break and we have so many plans.  Starting with Saturday going to see the Ryan Humbert Band!  Which both of us can't wait for!

Dave and Busters

Last night we headed out to Dave and Buster's to do something with family celebrating Chelsea's 19th birthday and Shawn's 18th birthday.  While we ended up having a fun night when we first arrived I didn't think the evening was going to go well.  The first thing we did was put in our reservations for dinner.  The girl said it would be a 3.5-4 hour wait!  I'm like but it usually is less than that?  No, she says, actually it may be longer than that.

We knew we were not going to wait that long for dinner, but we decided to put our name in and get the pager and let the kids play for a while.  In the meantime we called around to other restaurants in the area to find a place to dine when we left.

After a couple hours of play and the pager not going off we decided to head off to Max and Erma's for dinner.  My sister and her family headed over while we were still rounding up our family.  Right when we get our family together the pager goes off.  Well great, half our party has already left!  So I called my sister and find out that before they left they asked how much longer it was going to be and they were told 1 1/2 - 2 hours, but within minutes of them leaving the pager went off?

We decided to continue in our plans to head over to Max and Erma's and I was really disappointed with Dave and Buster's for being so off on how long the wait was.  But we ended up having a blast at Max and Erma's so I guess it all worked out in the end.

Finally

Finished up some journaling on layouts from the last two crops.  That was a much needed accomplishment for me.  Especially since so often I struggle with getting the journaling done.  I can't ever do it at crops and so many times I put it off when I'm at home.  So whether its one sentence or a paragraph, I got it done! 

 

Now I can begin to play with my April Work in Progress Kit!  Yeah!

Such a fun weekend

It blew by so quickly!  It began with Friday night going to dinner for Chelsea's birthday. Shinto is always a fun and entertaining way to enjoy a meal and they didn't  disappoint. We were joined by both the grandma's, Chelsea's girlfriend Daniella and Tony and Vicky. 

Saturday was spent at a crop with Trish and the girls and at a wonderful fund raiser and then Sunday we went to see Shawn run in Kent and then met up with Chelsea for a while.
