Transferring Jobs... what?
Never did I imagine with 2 weeks left to go, I'd get asked to fly to the New York Camp for 3 weeks because they are under staffed. I am excited to meet a ton of new people and 130 new kids but I'm also really sad to be leaving behind all of my girls who I have pushed and helped in the past 4 weeks. I never imagined how upset they would be.. Some girls were in their rooms crying, some were screaming saying "You can't leave us, we love you too much, we wont let it happen!" over and over, some were taken back thinking I was purposely leaving them and some of them just begged me over and over to stay and to rethink my decision and what I was doing.
Rewind.. I found out about the position a few hours earlier and a few other people also suggested they were interested in the transfer. Then right before Iron Chef- Cari asked me to call this lady and book my flight, I was headed out on saturday. It all happened so fast. These are the moments that make you wish you gave it your all everyday because If I could, I'd go back and spend more time with my girls during siesta or just little things. Everyday, live your life to the fullest.
Another good thing about transferring is that my mom and Ben are coming up today. I'm super excited to be seeing them and they will be the ones to be dropping me off at the airport! :) Never have I been to Madison airport but I'm excited =) Time to travel. Only bad thing is all the lay overs. Wisconsin to Detroit to New York. then coming home is New York to DC to Ohio.
It's time for another journey and experience. granted it's only 3 weeks but the first 4 weeks changed my life forever, how will this change my life? I will go from a staff of 15 and 45 co-ed kids. to a staff of 45 and 130 girls.
I will try and keep updating on my time there. <3
What an amazing opportunity! And New York?. That's a bonus! Can't wait to hear more about it.
